Kellyanne Conway Sidesteps Question over Whether Husband is ‘Cyberbullying’ Her to Quit

Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to President Donald Trump, sidestepped a question over whether her husband George Conway is trying to get her to quit. Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace had asked if her spouse was “cyberbullying” her to leave the position.

“Some people think that,” she said. “They certainly do. My first line of protection in this world is and will always be my four children, and so I don’t really like to discuss this publicly.”

Conservative lawyer George Conway has taken to calling out Trump on social media. POTUS has a lot of critics, but only one is husband to Mrs. Conway, who served as his campaign manager at the end of the 2016 presidential election.

Her husband is a Republican. He lowkey worked to undermine Democratic President Bill Clinton in the 1990s. It wasn’t shocking that Mr. Conway discussed joining the Department of Justice under Trump. It was a twist, however, when he backed out, saying that it wasn’t the best time for his family if he left the private sector. It was an even bigger surprise when he began ripping into the president on social media, and needling him over his many legal controversies.

Kellyanne Conway discussed this in a Washington Post profile last August.

Me [author Ben Terris]: You told me you found [George’s tweets] disrespectful.

Kellyanne: It is disrespectful, it’s a violation of basic decency, certainly, if not marital vows . . . as “a person familiar with their relationship.”

Me: No, we’re on the record here. You can’t say after the fact “as someone familiar.”

Kellyanne: I told you everything about his tweets was off the record.

Me: No, that’s not true. That never happened.

Kellyanne: Well, people do see it this way. People do see it that way, I don’t say I do, but people see it that way.

Me: But I’m saying we never discussed everything about his tweets being off the record. There are certain things you said that I put off the record.

Kellyanne: Fine. I’ve never actually said what I think about it and I won’t say what I think about it, which tells you what I think about it.

Trump publicly has kept silent about George Conway until recently.

“I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!” he wrote on Twitter.
