United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz is testifying before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Tuesday morning. Lawmakers are seeking information regarding airline customer service. This comes after Dr. David Dao reached a settlement with United after he was physically dragged off a flight for refusing to give up his paid seat when flight staff needed space. Tuesday’s hearing is not just focused on United’s practices, but on the industry in general. Also on the witness list are Joseph Sprague, the Senior Vice President of External Relations for Alaska Airlines, Bob Jordan, the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Southwest Airlines, Kerry Philipovitch, the Senior Vice President of Customer Experience for American Airlines, and William J. McGee, an Aviation Consultant for the Consumers Union.
