Here Are The Mandatory Reporting Laws In New Hampshire

(1) Does the state require everyone to report child abuse, including sex abuse?  Yes. The law, besides enumerating professions which must report, also states that “any other person having reason to suspect that a child has been abused or neglected shall report.”

(2) Does the law require coaches to report child abuse? Yes, under the rationale above.

(3) Does the law require college staff to report child abuse? Yes, under the rationale above.

(4) Does the law allow jail time for those who fail to properly report abuse? No; failing to report is an unclassified misdemeanor, which equates to a fine of up to $1,200.
