Guys Who Law: Campaign Finance Violations Won’t Be Enough to Take Down Trump

In the Guys Who Law’s newest podcast episode, Jesse and Andrew discuss the two biggest news stories from last week – Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen. Manafort was convicted on eight counts – including tax fraud, bank fraud, and more. Interestingly enough, a mistrial was declared on ten other counts, so stay tuned for another episode when those counts go to retrial!

Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, pleaded guilty on eight accounts of tax evasion, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations–specifically regarding the paying off of Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.

Jesse: “You take that beautiful cake of bank and tax fraud, and sprinkle it on top with pleading guilty to campaign finance violations, and that is where President Trump comes in. Because in this plea deal that he took, (…) he said he engaged in these campaign finance violations at the direction of a candidate for office.”

Andrew: “And who could that be?”
