Watch: Judith Walthers Sentencing Hearing

A sentencing hearing is underway in Arizona for admitted killer Judith Walthers. She pleaded guilty to murder charges for her role in the death of Kevin Worzalla, age 54, in early 2014. Walthers, who was 20 when she was arrested days after the crime, had been staying with the victim on and off at the time of his death. Her DNA was discovered on bloody objects at the crime scene.

Walthers was ultimately accused of beating the victim to death with a wrench while he slept in his Mesa, Arizona apartment, taking the victim’s truck and driving it around town for about a week, and also taking some of the victim’s property, including a rare coin collection. Police also found evidence Walthers tried to clean the crime scene and items related to the crime.

Walthers originally faced first-degree murder and other charges related to the theft of the collection, the truck, and for trying to scrub the crime scene. She originally entered a not guilty plea, but eventually changed her mind.
