Kristopher Torgerson is facing a murder charge for the 2010 death of 22-year-old Stephanie Low. The Wisconsin woman was missing for years before her remains were found in 2014. Torgerson was the one who led authorities to Low’s body in a shallow grave, years after her alleged murder.
The trial began on Tuesday in Marathon County, Wisconsin, and witnesses testified that Low and her boyfriend sold cocaine, and that Torgerson was looking for cocaine when he went to Low’s home in October 2010. Low’s boyfriend was in jail at the time.
Torgerson, who goes by the nickname “Spider,” is currently serving a prison sentence for an unrelated crime.
The trial continues on Wednesday, and police officers who investigated Low’s death are expected to take the stand. LawNewz.com and the LawNewz Network will provide continuing coverage of the case.
