‘We Gotta Bury a Body’: Dad Allegedly Kills Neighbor, Has Daughter Help Hide the Evidence

A father and daughter in Pasco County, Florida have been charged in the death of a neighbor. William Porter, 50, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly killing neighbor David Brady, according to The Tampa Bay TimesCelina Porter, 18, is charged with helping dump the body near a pond off the side of a rural road in Polk County.

Deputies announced that the victim’s body was found last Friday.

Porter said that he was drinking beer with Brady, authorities claimed. He allegedly said the neighbor made inappropriate statements about Celina.

But Porter allegedly claimed it was Brady who attacked, saying the neighbor pulled out a gun. Porter said he managed to get his hands on the weapon, and fatally shot Brady in the chest, deputies said.

Celina allegedly played no part in the killing itself, but she did help hide the body, according to authorities.

“We gotta bury a body,” Porter told his daughter, according to Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Mr. Porter called her to the scene, he put the corpse in his truck, and his daughter drove them to the spot where they dumped it, deputies said.

Investigators aren’t taking this story at face value.

“To shoot somebody and then grab your daughter and say, ‘Put him in the back of the pick-up. We’re gonna drive him into Polk County and dispose of him,’ there’s a lot more to this story that were still working, investigating,” Nocco said.

William Porter is charged with second-degree murder, and tampering with evidence. His daughter was booked as an accessory after the fact.

It’s unclear if the Porters have attorneys in this matter.

Brady was 54 years old. Friend Tanya Dunlap told Fox 13 that he was her best friend, and the Porters deserve whatever they get.
