A couple lost track of their 5-year-old son during a bender in a Florida bar over the weekend. David and Deana Pulis brought the child to the de Bine Brewing Company in Palm Harbor after midnight on Saturday, deputies say. But after both of them were drinking, Deana passed out and David couldn’t keep track of the kid.
David eventually found his son, with the help of bar employees, but the story doesn’t end there. When Deana came to, she threw up in front of the bar, and David got into a fight with the manager and another customer. The fight ended with David bloodied and sprawled outside. Luckily, bar staff took the child to safety until authorities showed up.
When deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office showed up, neither parent could give a name or contact information for anyone who could look after the boy, so authorities placed him with the Florida Department of Children and Families. Both parents were arrested and charged with neglect of a child, and were released from jail after posting bond.
