Avenatti to Turn Over Second Tape of R. Kelly and Underage Girl

R. Kelly is set to appear in court again on Monday after spending the weekend in jail following his indictment on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse based on allegations that he abused four victims. Now, it appears that attorney Michael Avenatti has additional evidence against the singer that he plans on turning over to prosecutors.

“I can confirm that we will be providing a second video showing R. Kelly engaged in sexual assault of a minor to prosecutors this morning,” Avenatti said in a tweet Monday morning. “This tape was recently uncovered in connection with our ongoing nationwide investigation on behalf of victims. Justice must be done.”

This comes after Avenatti previously gave prosecutors a VHS tape that allegedly showed Kelly and an underage teenage girl engaged in sexual activity.

Law&Crime reached out to Avenatti regarding whether this new tape shows Kelly with the same individual who was in the first one. While he has yet to respond, TMZ reports that it is indeed the same girl. The gossip site also reported that the attorney is working on acquiring a third video that is believed to exist, showing Kelly with a different girl.

Kelly remained incarcerated over the weekend, after he was unable to put up the $100,000 in cash needed to make bail.

In 2008, the singer went to trial after he faced a child pornography charge based on similar allegations involving a sex tape of him with an underage girl. Kelly was acquitted in that case, although Avenatti recently accused him of witness tampering in that case.
