The murder trial of Justin Ross Harris, who is accused of intentionally leaving his 22-month old son, Cooper, in a hot car to die, continues.

Harris is facing eight charges, including malice murder, felony murder and child cruelty. He is also facing charges for allegedly sexting underage girls on the day his son was left to die in the parking lot of the Home Depot Corporate Headquarters in Cobb County, Georgia. Harris claims that he is innocent and this was all a tragic accident.

On Wednesday, lead detective Phil Stoddard, finished with his testimony, as the defense continued to cross-examine him. The defense tried to poke holes in Stoddard’s account of Harris’ online history that included visiting a message board on Reddit called “Child Free” and watching a video of a veterinarian discussing the effect that a hot car could have on a pet. It turns out that there was no evidence that Harris actively searched for either of these,as was previously believed. Defense attorney Maddox Kilgore also got Stoddard to admit that the police brought in an outside consultant to examine Harris’ online activity, but that Stoddard never saw the results of the examination, nor did he speak with the consultant afterwards.
