The ride sharing service Uber has reportedly banned a passenger for life after she became irate at her driver and threatened to call the police and falsely accuse the driver with rape, the company says.
The New York Post placed portions of the dash-cam footage of the insane incident online earlier this week and it shows the female passenger angrily berating the male driver for several minutes. She was apparently upset that he did not have an iPhone charger available for her use.
The driver appears to remain calm and eventually informs the passenger he will terminate the ride immediately, unless she calms down.
That just sets her off more and she refuses to leave the vehicle unless he calls the cops. The driver then asks, again, if she will calm down and she threatens to spit in his face and refers to where she is from, presumably to impress upon the driver how tough she is.
At that point he has had enough and pulls over, telling her they won’t be driving anymore. The passenger then says she’ll roll down his window and tell everyone that he “raping” her and “tried to touch [her] vagina.” The driver denies such actions, claiming he is married man.
When that tactic fails she threatens to “violate the car” and “throw her juice everywhere,” while the driver continues to maintain his calm throughout it all. The episode reportedly continued for approximately nine minutes and at one point the passenger told the driver he needed to be careful because “Donald Trump was going” to deport him and his family.
Uber released a statement saying, “As our Community Guidelines make clear, this will not be tolerated by anyone who uses Uber.” They then lowered the boom on the female passenger, stating, “The rider’s account has been banned and Uber is looking into this incident.”
The identities of either person have stilll not been confirmed, but the driver released an anonymous video of YouTube Friday thanking people for the support he received in recent days.
