A suspected serial robber appears to have chosen the wrong restaurant in Brooklyn to attempt to rob this time. Surveillance video of the most recent robbery police associate with the man shows employees actually fought against the suspect even though he was armed with a large knife.
The insane video was captured by cameras at Chen’s Garden, a restaurant on Flatlands Avenue. NBC New York reports police believe the man in the video is involved in at least four burglaries in the area.
A hooded suspect is seen entering the restaurant and appears to pull out a large knife as he approaches the counter. Some employees appear startled at first and rush into the back, but just as quickly they reappear, armed with anything they could get a hold of to fight off the intruder.
The suspect attempts to jump over the counter, presumably to get to the cash register, but he is thwarted as other employees run out of the kitchen area to fight him off.
Employees can be seen swinging objects at the suspect and he quickly retreats out of the restaurant, failing to grab any cash.
The man is reportedly suspected in at least three other burglaries of restaurants in the area that were not so lucky. Cops say those robberies have netted the unknown man over $1,000 in cash in the past month alone.
NYPD cops are asking anyone who knows the man to call the local tips hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
