Video posted to Facebook on Saturday shows a woman getting kicked off an Alaska Airlines flight because she argued with a Trump supporter.
Scott Kotesky said he was going to fly from Baltimore to Seattle. From his post:
I put my backpack in the overhead and the wife with a very stern voice says to me:”Did you come here to cheer or to protest?””I came here to celebrate democracy ma’am”
They started arguing, and airlines employees got involved.
“You pretend to have the moral high ground, but you put that man’s finger on a nuclear button,” the woman said on camera to Kotesky. “That man doesn’t believe in climate change.” Then she said mockingly, “Do you believe in gravity? Did you know gravity is just a theory?”
The woman and her husband were soon kicked off the plane to some applause and at least one man chanting “USA.”
The woman and her husband, who both remain unidentified, could not be reached for comment.
Lt. Kevin Ayd of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police told CBS News on Monday that no charges were filed. A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines also said the couple’s ticket were refunded, and they could buy tickets in the future.
LawNewz.com reached out for comment, and to learn more about the airline’s point-of-view regarding what happened. They say Kotesky wasn’t the only person who had issues with the woman.
“We can confirm that a disruptive passenger was removed from flight 761 from Baltimore to Seattle prior to departure,” the airline said in a statement. “The female passenger was insulting passengers in the boarding area and then onboard the aircraft. Several passengers expressed concerns about her behavior. We stand by our employees’ decision to remove the disruptive passenger.”
