NYPD Drug Bust Nets Guns, Crack Cocaine and… an Alligator!

NYPD officers in Brooklyn were probably in for quite a surprise when they executed a search of an apartment and in addition to finding the usual drugs and a handgun, they reportedly found an alligator living inside the apartment.

NBC New York reports the officers were executing a search warrant in Flatbush about 6:20 AM Wednesday morning at the home of Tracey Habakkuk when they made the unusual discovery.

In addition to the caiman alligator in the living room, drug officers found a loaded .380 semi-automatic pistol and an unknown quantity of a substance believed to be crack cocaine.

The 41-year-old Habakkuk was arrest on the scene and now faces criminal possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a prohibited wild animal and criminal firearm possession.  He was booked and it is unclear when he will make his first court appearance.

There is no word on what happened to the caiman.
