10-Year-Old Boy Leads Cops On High Speed Chase In Ohio (WATCH)

Details are light, but a 10-year-old boy in Ohio just led a series of local and state police on the joy ride of a lifetime.

According to authorities, the boy took the car at around 9:00 am on Thursday morning.

Then, at roughly 9:15 am, another driver called the police to report that the boy’s car was being chased by a red vehicle–believed to be his mother’s car, according to a local ABC affiliate.

The Westlake Police Department sent three cars to pursue the speed-needing boy after receiving the 9:15 report.

The boy then eluded those officers through two Ohio counties–Lorain and Erie–by tearing across the blacktop at speeds reaching 96 miles per hour. Then he made it to the Ohio Turnpike. That’s when the Ohio State Highway Patrol took over.

State Troopers attempted to box the boy in, but he dodged them as well by driving into a ditch. The chase went on.

Finally, after trying to re-enter the road, the boy and his borrowed car were unable to make it out of the ditch that had just proven so useful to his roadway theatrics.

He was apprehended at now-felled mile-marker 121 in Erie County. The two truck driver on the scene summed it up:

He’s a good driver.

But the 10-year-old wasn’t quite done even after being caught.

As he was being taken into custody, the boy spit at the arresting officers and kicked one in the chin.

When questioned about his latest joy ride–he tried something similar on October 16–the 10-year-old simply said he was bored.
