The law requires any “individual paid or unpaid, who, on the basis of the individual’s role as an integral part of a regularly scheduled program, activity or service, is a person responsible for the child’s welfare or has direct contact with children.”

(2) Does the law require coaches to report child abuse? Not explicitly, but coaches are surely included in the catch-all definition above.

(3) Does the law require college staff to report child abuse? Not explicitly, but college staff are surely included in the catch-all definition above.

(4) Does the law allow jail time for those who fail to properly report abuse? Yes.
