(1) Does the state require everyone to report child abuse, including sex abuse?  Yes. Additionally, an enumerated list of professionals are explicitly required to report abuse and are required to give their names when making a report.

(2) Does the law require coaches to report child abuse? Yes, because everyone is required to report.

(3) Does the law require college staff to report child abuse? Yes, because everyone is required to report.

(4) Does the law allow jail time for those who fail to properly report abuse? Yes. The list of penalties is lengthy. A person who fails to report commits a 3rd Degree Felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. A university or college which covers up abuse is subject to multiple $1 million fines, depending on the number of cover-ups and the level of staff associated with the cover-up.
