WATCH: Sentencing of Mother in Death of Boston Toddler Bella Bond

Rachelle Bond, mother of slain Boston toddler Bella Bond, was sentenced on Wednesday, after she pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact in relation to her daughter’s death. As per her plea agreement, Bond was sentenced to time served and probation. She must undergo a psychiatric evaluation that includes substance abuse treatment as part of the terms of her probation.

A jury convicted Bond’s boyfriend, Michael McCarthy of second degree murder for the child’s death, after Rachelle testified against him as part of her deal with prosecutors. McCarthy was sentenced to life in prison with a possibility of parole after 20 years, at a hearing in June.

Rachelle Bond was originally scheduled to be sentenced to probation on June 27, but after a drug treatment center wouldn’t accept her, the sentencing hearing was pushed to July 12 with the hopes that another center will take her. Bond said at the time that she would rather stay in jail and stay sober than be let out without a treatment plan.
