The trial of David “DJ” Creato Jr. continues Tuesday morning in Camden County, New Jersey. Creato is accused of murdering his 3-year-old son Brendan and leaving the body in a park on October 13, 2015. Creato, who maintains his innocence, was the one who reported his son’s disappearance that morning. Authorities found Brendan’s body a few hours later, at a location just a few blocks from their apartment. Prosecutors say half of Brendan’s body had been submerged in a creek, and that he died from either drowning or smothering.

Court was last in session on Thursday. The jury heard from an officer who investigated the scene where Brendan was located. He described how the child was found partially submerged in a creek. Last week, the jury also left the courtroom to see the location.

Prosecutors allege that Creato killed his son in order to appease his then 17-year-old girlfriend, Julia Stensky, who supposedly didn’t like kids, and threatened to break up with Creato over his family situation. Stensky is expected to testify on Tuesday.

Court is scheduled to resume at 9:00 am ET Tuesday morning.
