WATCH: Kristopher Torgerson Murder Trial Day 9

The murder trial of Kristopher Torgerson continues Thursday in Marathon County, Wisconsin. Torgerson is charged in the 2010 death of 22-year-old Stephanie LowThe Wisconsin woman was missing for years before her remains were found in 2014. Torgerson was the one who led authorities to Low’s body in a shallow grave, years after her alleged murder. Torgerson was believed to be at Low’s home looking for drugs, and Low and her boyfriend were known to sell cocaine.

On Wednesday, the court heard a recording of a conversation between Torgerson and a detective that took place during the investigation in 2011. At that time, Torgerson acknowledged that he knew Low and had been in her home in the past, but not the night before disappeared. He said he did not know where she was, and had not seen her at all that night. This contradicts the testimony of witness Richard Hawkins, who had told the court that he was in the apartment with Torgerson and helped him dispose of Low’s body. In the recording, Hawkins’ name came up, but Torgerson acted like he didn’t remember the man well.

The trial will continue Thursday morning. Stay with LawNewz.com and the LawNewz Network for continuing coverage of the case.
