The murder trial of Kristopher Torgerson continues Friday in Marathon County, Wisconsin. Torgerson is charged in the 2010 death of 22-year-old Stephanie Low. The Wisconsin woman was missing for years before her remains were found in 2014. Torgerson was the one who led authorities to Low’s body in a shallow grave, years after her alleged murder. Torgerson was believed to be at Low’s home looking for drugs, and Low and her boyfriend were known to sell cocaine.
On Thursday, Low’s boyfriend Eric Maholmes took the stand. He discussed how he and Low were friends at first, then started dating, and later lived together. He admitted that he and Low were involved in selling crack cocaine, and that he and Low knew Torgerson from selling drugs to him. Maholmes told the court that he was in jail at the time Low disappeared.
Later on Thursday, forensic scientist Katherine Kohl testified regarding DNA analysis of the apartment.
The judge also ruled that the testimony of four witnesses would not be made available for broadcast or recording, as they are incarcerated, and their identities will not be made public.
