The murder trial of Justin Ross Harris, who is accused of intentionally leaving his 22-month old son, Cooper, in a hot car to die, continues.
Harris is facing eight charges, including malice murder, felony murder and child cruelty. He is also facing charges for allegedly sexting underage girls on the day his son was left to die in the parking lot of the Home Depot Corporate Headquarters in Cobb County, Georgia. Harris claims that he is innocent and this was all a tragic accident.
On Monday, prosecutors played a video which they say Justin Ross Harris watched about how hot it gets inside a car. The leader detective, Phil Stoddard, was on the stand the entire day. He testified that it took Harris about a minute to forget about his son inside the car. He also said the car had a bad odor when he examined it.
At the end of the video, police told Harris that they were looking to charge him, at least with cruelty to a child. Harris insisted that he did not do this intentionally, and pointed out that he has no history of child abuse and no criminal record.
