“I can tell you right now I’m all ears,” Attorney Daniel Petrocelli told Curiel on Thursday.
The likelihood of a settlement remains unclear, though. The trial is set to begin on November 28, but Petrocelli asked to delay it until early 2017.
“We’re in uncharted territory,” he said. “We need a little bit of time.”
He said he’ll file the formal request by Monday. However, Curiel reportedly seemed unlikely to delay the trial any further.
Former students of Trump University claim the school was a scam. In February, Trump publicly claimed that Curiel, who is of Mexican heritage, was biased against him because of his strict immigration policy. However, The judge has ruled both for and against the defense throughout this entire process. Trump denies the school did anything wrong.
