21-year-old Joycelyn Savage, one of six so-called “captives” mentioned in the bombshell BuzzFeed News report in which parents of the alleged victims accused R&B singer R. Kelly of holding their daughters in an abusive “cult”-like environment, spoke out against her father’s accusations and told TMZ that her father actually helped make arrangements for her to live at Kelly’s home.
Sources close to Joycelyn told TMZ that her father, Timothy Savage, agreed to let her daughter live with R. Kelly nearly two years ago after Kelly and Joycelyn met at a concert. Sources reportedly said, “the eventual plan — hatched by Dad [Timothy], R. Kelly and others–was for Joycelyn to stay at Kelly’s house to develop as a singer under his tutelage.” She was dropped off at a friend’s house by her father, the sources say, where she was then driven to Kelly’s house. Joycelyn reportedly told friends that her father knows her exact whereabouts.
Yesterday, Timothy dared R. Kelly to file a lawsuit against him after the singer denied the accusations and expressed that he wanted to sue his accusers.
In the video above, Joycelyn asserts that she was happy, and chided her father for embarrassing her. “Dad, you know everything that’s going on with the media and Internet, and what you have done is a complete disaster,” Joycelyn said. “Honestly, you know the situation that had happened that night when I went to meet R. Kelly.”
Joycelyn has not released her location, but has previously asserted she is not being held against her will.
