In the wake of allegations that Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore had a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl almost 40 years ago, attorney Gloria Allred has announced a press conference with another woman who claims that Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a minor.
Moore, a former state judge, has denied all allegations of improper conduct. He referred to last week’s Washington Post article about his alleged actions as “fake news,” and threatened to sue the newspaper. Moore claims that the allegations in that article were nothing more than a political maneuver to hurt him before his December 12 special election, where he faces Democrat Doug Jones.
Moore and Jones are vying for the Senate seat that was left vacant when Jeff Sessions became Attorney General. Moore recently defeated fellow Republican Luther Strange in the GOP primary.
The new accuser will appear with Allred at the press conference Monday afternoon at 2:30 pm EST in Manhattan.
