Law&Crime, the go-to site for live trials, crime and legal news, is seeking a social media video producer with strong news judgment and video editing skills to take charge of our social media accounts. An ideal candidate will have the ability to use data to spot trending stories​.

The Law&Crime Network generates more than 8 hours of original video content a day, so the preferred candidate will also have the ability to pick out the most interesting moments and generate viral social media stories​ based on ​clips from our trial streams, and our trending legal and crime stories.  Law&Crime is based in New York City so ability​ to come into the office​ is a plus​.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Manage and grow Law & Crime’s branded social media platforms

Create an overarching social media strategy for Law & Crime channels

Develop, edit, and share engaging ​video and other ​content daily

Work with editorial team to support and promote editorial content on Lawa​ndCrime.com

Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications

Analyze key metrics and tweak strategy as needed

Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results

Conceptualize, produce, and edit engaging and original photography, video, and digital content for Law & Crime channels

Work with the graphic design team and oversee the design of Law&Crime’s social media accounts (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures, etc)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required

At least 2 years of relevant experience managing social media for a news, agency or online media publisher

Proven experience hitting key social KPIs

Excellent editorial/creative judgment, writing skills and ability to capture Law & Crime’s voice 

Confident, collaborative, and communicative with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment
