Opening statements in the trial of former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing are scheduled to begin on Tuesday and you can watch the entire trial live on LawNewz.com (video above will be live when opening statements begin).
Tensing is charged in connection with the shooting death of motorist Sam DuBose during a traffic stop near the University of Cincinnati campus in July 2015. Body cam video of the incident shows DuBose was shot in the head as he appeared to attempt to drive away. On Monday, prosecutors disclosed for the first time that Tensing “admitted in a taped interview” with investigators that “he purposely caused the death of Sam DuBose.” Prosecutors told the court the taped interview provided the basis for the underlying murder charge.
