Congresswoman’s Naked Pics Posted Online, Feds Investigating

Screen Shot 2016-07-21 at 3.06.07 PMCapitol Police and the FBI are investigating after someone reportedly hacked into U.S. Rep. Stacey Plaskett‘s computer and posted a ‘private’ tape of her and her husband briefly online. “Private photos” between her and her husband were also making the rounds, including a topless selfie she took.

“The theft and distribution of these personal images via the internet marks a new low in Virgin Islands politics. I am shocked and deeply saddened that someone would stoop to such a level as to invade my marriage and the love of my family in an attempt to besmirch me politically,” Placket said in a statement.

Plaskett also said a private playful video of her family, “including one of our children” was illegally obtained and disseminated via the internet.

“As a mother I am outraged that one of my children was exploited in such a way,” she said.

Her office noted that the hack was alleged to have taken place two weeks before an upcoming Primary Election.

“Our office is currently working with the Capitol Police and the FBI and I can confirm that an active investigation is underway to find out who committed this crime and anyone else who may have been involved,” Plaskett’s Chief of Staff Jerome Murray said in a statement.
