Chris Soules, who starred in the nineteenth season of The Bachelor, has been formally charged by Buchanan County prosecutors in the felony hit-and-run that ended a farmer’s life. He faces one count of leaving the scene of a deadly crash, The Argus Leader reports. That’s a class D felony in Iowa punishable by up to five years in prison and a $7,500 fine. An arraignment has been scheduled for May 23.

Buchanan County prosecutors say he rear-ended the tractor of 66-year-old Kenny Mosher on April 24, killing him, then leaving the scene before law enforcement arrived. Officials later found him at his home in Arlington, Iowa. Soules’ lawyers said last week that he “acted reasonably, and actually called 911 to get help (You can hear it above).
