A 32-year-old Pennsylvania school teacher was shot to death in her Aliquippa driveway Sunday
In Oct. 2017, an anonymous email was sent to Rachael DelTondo‘s employer, the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. It revealed the existence of an Aliquippa Police report from 2016 that said an officer approached a parked car with steamed up windows and found DelTondo and a 17-year-old former student inside.
She was “removed from the classroom pending an investigation.” She said “she was just talking with the male,” that “they were friends, that “he was upset and needed someone to talk to” and that “she didn’t want her fiancé to know that she was here parked because he would get mad.”
DelTondo was not charged, but her relationship did fall apart. She and her fiancé broke up and the wedding plans were cancelled. Then months later the police report described was emailed to her school.
CBS Pittsburgh said DelTondo appeared on its “Get Marty” TV segment because she wanted a refund for the custom wedding dress she ordered. Four months after the dress was ordered, DelTondo’s wedding was called off.
In the story, the DelTondo family was described as “old-school Italian” and the gown reportedly cost near $10,000.
It’s not clear if these details are connected to her death, which has been ruled a homicide. One neighbor said he counted “six [gun] shots” fired. DelTondo was shot in the chest multiple times.
She had just gotten back home from getting ice cream.
“I don’t know why that happened. I really don’t,” another neighbor said. “Beautiful lady, friendly, knew everybody, talked to everybody.”
