A Georgia man went to the police after he discovered that when he passed out at a local Waffle House, restaurant employees apparently had some fun at his expense, posting the whole incident on social media.

The man, who did not wish to be identified, told WSB-TV that he was drunk when he went to the location in DeKalb County last Wednesday and lost consciousness. When he came to, he wasn’t aware that anything had happened, and he ordered some food and went home. It was only when his friends showed him a video posted on Instagram that he learned that he had been the apparent victim of Waffle House employees playing a joke in bad taste.

The video shows the man slumped over a table, on the receiving end of salt and ketchup that was poured on him, with a slice of cheese place on his head as well. Not only that, one person can be seen grabbing him from behind, dancing and moving the man’s arms.

He has since filed a report with the DeKalb County Police Department for battery.

“He went to go get his head together, his mind straight, he passed out during the time, and they took advantage of him,” the man’s fiancée told the local news station. She said he did not know the two people in the video, who were reportedly both Waffle House employees.

Waffle House said in a statement:

We have been in contact with the customer and have apologized. We have launched an investigation, and once we get all the details, we will take swift and appropriate action.

His fiancée said she wants them fired. She said the Instagram account that had the video on it also had similar clips of other people being victimized.

“Half of the people who are on his page probably don’t even know they’re being exposed at the moment,” she said.

The account’s page has since gone private.
