Criminals have to eat too.
A customer at a Subway sandwich shop in Gwinnett County, Ga., hopped over the counter and stole money from the cash register; then he made sure to grab his meal before heading out, police say.
Surveillance video from the establishment recorded the morning of Oct. 9 shows the suspect placing his order and patiently waiting for the sub to be made.
Then the store employee handed him his sandwich and a cup for a soft drink, at which point the suspect can be seen climbing over the counter. The suspect appeared to have some sort of exchange with the employee before reaching underneath the register for the cash tray and placing it on the counter. A few moments later, he darts for the exit, then suddenly comes back, apparently realizing he almost forgot his sandwich!
The suspect can be seen jogging back to the counter and swiping the sub, before finally leaving to presumably “eat fresh” somewhere else. According to cops, the suspect also made off with about $100 in cash.
Police told local NBC affiliate 11Alive that they have identified the suspect as Zachary P. Miller, 34.
The suspect was still at large as of Wednesday afternoon. Cops said Miller has several active warrants out for his arrest in both Georgia and Tennessee.
