Law enforcement officials in Pinal County Arizona have apprehended a suspect they say committed at least four burglaries in the area. Jeremy Lawrence, 47, was arrested on Friday for the offenses, the most recent of which was on November 11, when he allegedly stole an exotic tree from someone’s home.
Authorities say that the previous night, Lawrence was caught on video stealing from another home. Deputies viewed footage and connected the incidents to another theft in August, where they say Lawrence was spotted showing up to a house completely naked and stealing plants. That footage revealed a tattoo that they linked to cases from 2016.
“The tattoo helped link the suspect to two cases in 2016 where the suspect was caught on game cameras without a shirt, revealing the tattoo,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
On Friday, November 16, deputies went to Lawrence’s home and conducted a search of the property. They said they found most of the items said to be stolen during the burglaries on November 10 and 11, the Sheriff’s Office said in their Facebook post. They also said they found more than 26 marijuana plants in what they described as a grow house in a back shed.
Lawrence is currently facing charges including two counts of burglary, possession of marijuana, possession for sale, cultivating of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. More charges could be forthcoming, however, as the investigation is still open.
