Officials in Apache Junction, Arizona say that Natasha Arredondo was murdered some time late Friday or early Saturday, according to AZ Family. They say her boyfriend Stuart Milne did it before committing suicide.

The investigation started late Friday. Goodyear cops reached out to their counterparts in Apache Junction. They asked for help in finding Milne, cops said. They worried he could have been suicidal.

That turns out to have been the case, authorities said. Cops located him in his car, and pulled him over for a traffic stop. A standoff ensued after he refused to show officers his right hand, cops said in the report. He shot himself in the head, and died.

Officers said he was speaking with a police negotiator when the traffic stop began. He said he do had done something wrong, and “needed to have retribution” for it. His statements seemed to convey that this involved Arredondo.

The victim left behind her family, including her son. She was reported missing after relatives found the child alone at home, according to 12 News. Her body was found in an industrial park in Apache Junction, and the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office identified her. She had been shot multiple times.

The investigation is ongoing.

An unrelated case in Georgia involved the deaths of married couple Steven and Melissa Meeks Rhodes.
