Authorities in Montgomery County, Texas claim that video shows day care worker Gregory Diglin grabbing a 4-year-old by the arm, and slamming her to the ground.

“Upon striking the ground the child’s face contacts the floor and she immediately begins to scream in pain,” said the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office in a Friday statement. Officials said he tried to clean up the blood after the attack, but the girl may have to deal with long-term dental trauma.

Diglin now faces one count of injury to a child, a third-degree felony. Records obtained by LawNewz.com show that as of Sunday, he remains at Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

That day care, the Children’s Lighthouse of Spring Harmony, told KHOU that Diglin lost his job over the incident. Here’s an excerpt:

A teacher who is now no longer employed at Children’s Lighthouse of Spring Harmony acted in a manner that neither we nor our franchisee accept or condone. The owners of Children’s Lighthouse of Spring Harmony terminated the teacher’s employment immediately.

They say they’re cooperating with authorities.

If convicted, Diglin faces up to 10 years in prison. He could not be reached for comment.
