A video from six years ago shows the Colorado dad accused of murdering his pregnant wife and two daughters doing a PowerPoint presentation on relationship deterioration and repair.
In the video, Christopher Watts, said that a child could help repair a crumbling relationship. It was apparently a “communication class” project.
“Sometimes when you have children and your relationship starts to deteriorate a child could help repair it,” he said, adding that infidelity with co-workers is a reason relationships fail.
“Sometimes you find your partner no longer attractive physically or in their personality,” he continued. “When you are in a relationship you have to show desire, lust toward your partner. Sometimes when you get married that the lust and the desire kind of fall by the wayside a little bit.”
The YouTube channel hosting the video is in Watts’s name.
Colorado authorities have said that Watts was having an affair with a co-worker before he killed his pregnant wife Shanann Watts and their children Bella and Celeste.
Watts, on the other hand, claimed that it was his wife, not him, who killed their daughters and that he killed her as a result:
… Chris stated after he told Shanann he wanted a separation he walked downstairs for a moment and then returned to his bedroom to speak with Shanann again. While in the bedroom, via baby monitor located on Shanann’s night stand, he observed Bella “sprawled” out on her bed and blue and Shanann actively strangling Celeste. Chris said he went into a rage and ultimately strangled Shanann to death.
Watts admitted to putting their bodies into the backseat of his work truck, taking them to an oil work site, and hiding their bodies, according to the affidavit. He dumped the girls in two oil tanks, and buried Shanann nearby, he allegedly said.
Shanann Watts was 15-weeks pregnant when she was killed.
Watts initially claimed he didn’t know where his missing wife and daughters were and sparked outrage across America by saying so in an interview.
Watts, 33, stunningly went on television and begged for help in finding his wife and children. The ABC 7 interview went on for several minutes. Watts looked into the camera and said “Shanann, Bella, Celeste … if you’re out there, just come back.”
