This was not the only incident involving Chicago’s election judges, who are paid $140 for the day plus $50 for completing a training course and additional money for running errands. Others included:
- Two judges in the 29th ward being sent home, one for falling asleep twice, the other for becoming “disagreeable.” A ninth ward judge fell asleep, as well.
- Three different election judges were removed for disruptive behavior in some kind, including one who sent an email preemptively claiming that other judges were yelling at him.
