Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is expected to turn himself in to authorities on Friday in connection to sex crime charges that were being investigated by the NYPD and Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, according to the New York Daily News.
The specific allegations include those brought by Lucia Evans, who claims that Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004, sources told the newspaper. The nature of the allegations are such that there is no statute of limitations.
Weinstein has denied wrongdoing in the face of a rash of allegations of misconduct made against him by Hollywood actresses including Salma Hayek, Ashley Judd, and Rose McGowan.
Weinstein is represented by attorney Benjamin Brafman, who refused to comment to the Daily News.
Sources told the newspaper that a special grand jury had been convened in recent weeks that was also looking into possible financial crimes, but it is still unknown whether any such charges will be filed against Weinstein.
This is a developing story and Law & Crime will provide more information as it is learned.
